|YOUNG ADULT SPACE POLICY|
The Uniondale Public Library Board establishes a dedicated Young Adult Space in
order to provide a library environment that meets the emotional, social and educational
needs of those in Grades 6 through 12, ages 12-18.
Adults or children wishing to obtain circulating materials (such as books, CDs,
magazines, etc.) from the Young Adult Space collection must request the materials
from Library staff, and will be able to use the materials in other areas of the library. The
Library reserves the right to ask anyone to leave the room. All children who are under
the age of twelve or not yet in sixth grade will be directed to use the Children's Room.
Anyone wishing to use the mobile technology available in the Young Adult Space must
adhere to the same policies as for the public computers. These devices shall remain in
the Young Adult Space.
The Young Adult Space will be open from 2:30 pm to closing Monday through Friday
when school is in session. It will be open from 9 am to closing Monday through Friday
(10 am on Tuesday) when school is not in session. The Young Adult Space will be
open Saturday and Sunday following the seasonal schedule of the Library.
