Book Club in a Bag

Welcome to Uniondale Library’s Book Club in a Bag Program

Book Club in a Bag offers book clubs access to multiple copies of some 200 hundred titles (see below). Each bag contains 10 copies of a particular title, along with background material to help facilitate discussion.

Any patron with a valid Uniondale library card can borrow a bag. The checkout period is six weeks. The person who requests a bag is responsible for the bag and its contents.

Patrons may borrow only one bag at a time. Requests for bags should be made at least a month before the anticipated checkout date. Bags can be reserved up to one year in advance.

Bags should be returned to the circulation desk; they should not be deposited in the book drop. The entire set—the bag and all the materials in the bag—should be returned together.

It is important to return the bag on time and to make sure the bag contains all of the items that belong in it. Bags kept after the due date accrue daily late charges for each item. The replacement costs of individual items depend on the cost of that particular item. The replacement cost of an entire bag is a minimum of $175.

To request a bag, contact Patrice Benneward (516-489-2220, x226) in the technical services department.
