Empowerment through Technology

Grades 6-12
November 12 – December 11
Applications available now for enrollment in a multi-week enrichment program designed to expose young adults to various aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).            
Successful graduates will receive a recognition gift from Uniondale Public Library. To find out more information and to obtain program applications, come to the Teen Services’ desk.
This program is made possible by the Uniondale School District Improvement Grant.


Ad Lib Steel Drum Orchestra

Saturday, November 15
2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Uniondale’s very own award winning Steel Drum ensemble will be performing for your enjoyment. Listen to the sounds of the Caribbean through Soca and Calypso tunes.Everyone is welcome to attend.

No registration is required.

Learn How to Draw Chibi’s

2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Chibi’s is a Japanese word meaning “short person” or “small child.”  The small figure is used a lot in Anime and Manga, and you’ll learn  how to draw these popular characters.
 

Junior Friends Annual Kwanzaa Celebration

You’ll make delicious cupcakes that look and taste like a cupof hot cocoa!

 Wheel Thrown Clay Bowls

Tuesday, December 30  3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Teens will have a blast as they learn clay "throwing" techniques working with air dry clay on an electric ceramic wheel. Clay tools and stampers will be available for decorating the finished bowls.
